Ballet
Ballet is a classical dance form characterized by its elegant, expressive movements and rigorous techniques. It emphasizes grace, precision, and fluidity, combining strong, controlled movements with the artistry of storytelling. Ballet styles range from the traditional, such as the structured and formal lines of French or Russian ballet, to the more contemporary, like the dynamic and innovative approaches found in modern ballet. With its emphasis on posture, alignment, and technique, ballet provides a solid foundation for many other dance forms while celebrating the beauty and discipline of dance.
Our ballet classes cater to all age groups with options for both beginners and advanced dancers. We provide tailored instruction to meet the needs of each student, ensuring a supportive environment where everyone can progress at their own pace. Whether starting out or refining advanced techniques, each class is designed to help dancers of all levels grow and thrive.
At age 13, dancers have the exciting opportunity to work towards pointe shoes, a significant milestone that represents advanced skill development and a deeper commitment to ballet. This stage allows them to explore new levels of technique and artistry in their dance journey.
Tap
Tap dance is a rhythmic and captivating class that focuses on creating intricate sounds and patterns with each step. Using tap shoes with metal plates on the heels and toes, students learn to produce clear, crisp beats and syncopated rhythms. The class emphasizes precise footwork, coordination, and musicality, encouraging dancers to express themselves through rhythm and creativity. With a blend of traditional techniques and modern styles, our tap dance classes provide a fun and engaging way to develop timing, agility, and a strong sense of rhythm.
Jazz
Jazz dance at Expressions is an energetic and vibrant class that combines dynamic movement with expressive style. Rooted in the rhythms of jazz music, this class features a mix of sharp, percussive steps and smooth, fluid motions. Students explore various techniques including isolations, kicks, leaps, and turns, all while developing their own unique performance flair. Our jazz dance classes are designed to enhance coordination, flexibility, and rhythm, offering a fun and lively atmosphere where dancers of all levels can unleash their creativity and build confidence on the dance floor.
Hip Hop
Hip Hop is an exciting, high-energy class that brings street-style movement to the dance floor. With its roots in urban culture, Hip Hop combines dynamic moves like popping, locking, and breaking with creative freestyle elements. Students develop strong coordination, rhythm, and self-expression while mastering the latest dance trends. The class encourages confidence and individuality, allowing dancers to showcase their unique style and groove to a diverse range of beats and rhythms.
Musical Theater
Our Musical Theater class is a vibrant, all-encompassing experience where students dive into the world of performance through singing, dancing, and acting. This year, we’re excited to expand our program, offering more opportunities for students to explore various aspects of theater, from character development to stage presence. Participants engage in dynamic rehearsals, develop their performance skills, and bring stories to life in a supportive and creative environment. Whether they're taking their first steps into theater or refining their craft, students will find a nurturing space to shine and grow as performers.
Contemporary & Modern
Contemporary and Modern dance at our studio offers a fluid and expressive approach to movement, blending techniques from various styles to create a unique and dynamic form of dance.

Contemporary Dance explores innovative movements and emotional expression, often incorporating elements from ballet, jazz, and modern dance. It emphasizes personal storytelling and emotional depth, encouraging dancers to connect deeply with their movements and convey powerful emotions through their performance.

Modern Dance focuses on foundational techniques and creative freedom, drawing from early pioneers of the genre. It features grounded movements and unconventional uses of space, with a strong emphasis on the dancer’s emotional connection to the material. This style allows for profound self-expression and exploration of the body’s natural rhythms and lines.

In both styles, emotion plays a central role, inviting dancers to express their inner feelings and connect with their audience on a deeper level, fostering creativity and personal growth in a supportive environment.
